LIFE OUT WEST IMMERSION UPDATE!

We were welcomed into the Wiradyuri Study Center and were greeted by an elder, Uncle Dick, and Marion, who gave us a tour of the centre, explaining the use and artwork in each room.

We took part in a lesson about Wiradyuri language, learning names of animals and common greetings. A quick recess break, then Aunty Bev Coe taught us the art of weaving baskets.

🌭 After a sausage sanga for lunch, world champion boomerang thrower Uncle Dick explained the brief history of boomerangs just before going out onto the field. Although windy, we were taught how to throw a boomerang and attempt to catch it. Ending our day at the center we took a drive to Gum Bend Lake exploring more of Condobolin.
